The ultimate high-pass traverse in the Karakoram. Following the classic Baltoro route to Concordia and K2 Base Camp, this demanding expedition ascends the Ali Camp before crossing the technical Gondogoro Pass (5,585m). Descend through the lush Hushe Valley with stunning vistas of Laila Peak.

Day-by-Day Expedition Schedule

Detailed stages from Islamabad briefing to the high camps and return.

4x4 drive to Askole village.

First day trek along Braldu River.

Trek to Paiju camp below Trango Towers.

Acclimatization and porter preparations.

Ascend onto the Baltoro Glacier.

Spectacular trek across granite terraces.

Trek on the glacial moraine.

Arrival at the Throne Room of the Mountain Gods.

Day trek to K2 Base Camp and Gilkey Memorial.

Trek onto the Vigne Glacier towards Ali Camp at the foot of Gondogoro La.

Midnight start for the technical climb to the pass using fixed ropes. Sunrise panoramic views of K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrums. Steep descent to Khuspang with breathtaking views of Laila Peak.

Trek down the Gondogoro valley past alpine pastures to Saicho camp.

Easy walk down to Hushe, the first village on the south side.

Scenic 4x4 drive along the Shyok and Indus rivers to Skardu.

Celebration dinner with the mountain staff.

Flight to capital city.

Official debrief and leisure time.

Buffer day for travel contingencies.

Transfer to Islamabad Airport for departure.
