The Real Local Ground Operator

Thirty Years at the Gateway to K2: The Story of Hassan Askole

Indus Trekking and Tours Pakistan is built on three decades of authentic ground operations. Hassan Askole began his career carrying loads on the stony trails of the Baltoro Glacier, working through every rank as porter, cook, guide, and expedition leader for international climbing teams on K2 and Broad Peak.

For the past fifteen years, based in Skardu, he has served as the key contractor (thekedar) supplying porters, cooks, and 4x4 jeep transport from Skardu to Askole for leading overseas trekking agencies. Askole village, situated in Shigar district at the edge of the Baltoro, is our home.

Direct Porter Network

Porters and cooks recruited directly from Askole village with fair compensation, complete mountain gear, and hot rations.

Skardu Ground Fleet

Proprietary 4x4 jeep fleet ensuring dependable transfers between Skardu, Shigar, and the Askole trailhead.
