Thrilling 4x4 jeep drive through the fertile Shigar Valley to Askole, the final permanent village in the Karakoram and our operational base.
First day of trekking along the roaring Braldu River, crossing the suspension bridge at the confluence of the Dumordo River to Jhola camp (6 to 7 hours).
Gentle ascent offering first dramatic views of the Trango Towers and Cathedral peaks. Overnight under the willow trees at Paiju camp.
Rest day for trekkers and porters. Traditional Balti singing, bread baking, and acclimatization walk on the slopes above Paiju.
Step onto the immense moraine of the Baltoro Glacier. Traverse glacial lakes and ridges to camp at Khoburtse overlooking the Trango Towers.
Spectacular trekking day across the glacier to Urdukas, perched on grassy granite terraces with breathtaking vistas of Great Trango and Cathedral.
Trek into the heart of the glacier towards Goro II, camping directly on the ice moraine with Masherbrum (7,821m) towering to the south.
The crown stage. Trek to Concordia, the grand junction of the Baltoro and Godwin-Austen glaciers, surrounded by 360-degree views of K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrum IV.
Full-day excursion along the Godwin-Austen glacier to Broad Peak Base Camp and the Gilkey Memorial at K2 Base Camp. Return to Concordia.
Buffer day for exploration, high altitude photography, or weather contingency.
Begin the descent down the Baltoro Glacier, taking in changing perspectives of the Karakoram giants.
Continue descent along the lateral moraine to the grassy terraces of Urdukas.
Trek off the Baltoro snout back down to the green campsite at Paiju.
Follow the Braldu gorge path down to Jhola campsite.
Final trekking leg into Askole village. Meet our private 4x4 jeep fleet and drive through Shigar Valley back to comfortable hotel in Skardu.
